perfectly placed for exploring st ives’ bustling art scene and beaches
I spent three nights here and truly enjoyed how spotlessly clean and comfortable my double room with a sea view was, and the incredible highlight was waking up to that amazing view each morning while being just a short walk from the Tate Gallery and the picturesque Porthminster Beach for some leisurely strolls by the coast. however, the TV was a bit on the fritz, which was only a minor hiccup in an otherwise fantastic stay.

The uphill walk from the harbor can feel strenuous, especially if you're carrying beach gear after a long day in the sun. The room lacked a bar fridge, limiting us to small milk cartons for tea. We needed more for the duration of our stay. Occasionally, the housekeeping seemed a bit off-towels weren't replaced for two days before I had to request new ones.

Perfect spot for a getaway!
Had a fab 3-night stay! Super close to the Harbour, just a quick 5-min walk to shops & restaurants. The room was spotless and comfy—those pillows were next level! Big shoutout to Tracy for the super tasty brekkie every morn. Only thing was the parking was a bit tight, but overall, def worth it!

Rivendell Guest House is beautifully decorated with clean, cozy rooms and lovely sea views. Tracy, the host, ensured a welcoming atmosphere, making even the short walk to the shops and beach quite manageable for seniors like me.
More milk for tea and coffee would be helpful.

The sea view from our room was absolutely breathtaking! 🌊 Tracy was a wonderful host, and the breakfast selection was delicious. The only downside was the slight uphill walk from town.

The trek back up the hill is a solid workout for anyone returning from the beach or town, which may not be ideal after a full day. The shower water pressure left a bit to be desired. a power shower would have added a nice touch. the number of fresh towels seemed inconsistent, especially during longer stays, which could be a hassle for those who prefer a clean towel every day. The bathrooms lacked proper ventilation, leading to a stuffy atmosphere after showers—a common issue that could use attention.

Breathtaking views from the room.
The walk to the guest house is incredibly steep and exhausting, especially after a long day out. It became a chore just to return after enjoying the local dining scene. the lack of a bar fridge in the room limited our ability to properly enjoy our beverages, which was quite disappointing.
